Reflection for Evidence #9 : Blog posts for OLTD 505
Outcome Addressed: Support the learning of classmate through discussion postings, blog comments, and social sharing activities.
I have chosen my blog posts for the evidence piece for OLTD 505. It is a list of my postings to others and about my findings throughout this course.
I have learned through this process that when working and collaborating with others I was able to access information and ideas a lot more quickly than trying to find things on my own. I have gained a great data base for resources for teaching and learning through this course, such as with the site “19 Pencils” ( http://www.19pencils.com) which I am developing to use with my f2f classroom. I have also discovered that there are a lot of resources to sift through. I think the biggest thing that I have taken away from OLTD 505 is the idea of sharing with others. I found that in sharing I gained a richer understanding of many ideas and thoughts of others and how they affected my thinking and ideas. I believe that this evidence piece reflects a connectivist ideology in that we were all connected through our sharing and learning from each other. The strengths of this evidence piece is that there are valuable insights to help me further reflect on my learning.
I believe that the above mentioned outcome is vital to my practice in that it makes me even more aware of the importance of my students sharing and collaborating in their learning. More minds are better than one.

Reflection for Evidence #10: Final Summary of Learning project for 505
Outcome Addressed: Articulate one’s summary of learning in the course in a multimedia, online format
I have chosen my final project for OLTD 505 as my piece of evidence. It is a multimedia project reflecting my summary of learning for this course. I used Soometa (http://www.metta.io) and Xtranormal (http://www.xtranormal.com) to develop my multimedia presentation.
I learned how to implement and imbed one multimedia into another. I feel that this evidence piece helped me to culminate what I had learned through this course and to be able to express my learning my way. I believe that the strengths of my evidence piece is that as I was developing my summary, I became aware of the “big picture” of my learning for this course. It seemed that there were a lot of little and big ideas to have to absorb and I was very overwhelmed. When I developed the summary many things came to the forefront and I was able to determine the most important issue for me. I came to the realization that in order to truly deliver the best practice in learning I need to facilitate sharing, have an awareness about copyright/copyleft, pick OER’s that facilitates learning, and watch closely the evolution of MOOCs.
I feel that the above mentioned outcome is important in my practice because it helps students to take what they have learned during a concept and be able to really reflect on what is important to them. Thereby accessing deeper learning.
