As I look back from the beginning of OLTD 504 until now, I am amazed at my transformation. At the beginning, as I perused the D2L course, I was really kind of freaked out! I thought I could never do what was expected during this course. However, now I am confident that I will be able to develop my own LMS or most likely a Non-LMS.
I really liked the way the course was set up to facilitate the knowledge building that I did. Granted there were A LOT hours put in as I developed my D2L course build (about 20 hrs). I do not begrudge those hours, as it was all about learning. Could I have done that particular project in less time? If I had had experience with this sort of thing, then yes. As I had had no experience whatsoever with building any kind of LMS then of course it takes time.
I am really excited to start working on my own course for my class for next year. I wish I had time to start now as I am a little afraid of forgetting some stuff. I will probably revisit either Canvas (https://canvas.instructure.com) or Haiku (http://www.haikulearning.com) every so often to slowly build it over the months ahead.
I have included the link to Kris and my recording of our meeting on Blackboard Collaborate (http://www.learnnowbc.ca/lnbcresources/elluminate/default.aspx)
